Cause I’m With You Till The End Of Line // Favorite Final Line

favorite final lines

Endings can be a painful thing.

After loving a book so much, enjoying the world and loving the characters, it’s finally time to say goodbye. It’s sad really, to never know what happen next to the characters after that final word is printed out, after all we’ve been through. But have you ever smile and close a book with a sad for saying goodbye, but happiness for the characters? We wanted more of the characters, but at least they got the best ending they could have, and we couldn’t be happier for them.

As we come to an end of another year, I’m going to tell you my favorite last lines of all time. They end the books, but also makes us happy for the characters, giving us the bittersweet feelings we reserved for amazing books.

1. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K Rowling

“The scar had not pained Harry for nineteen years. All was well.”

2. Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour by Morgan Matson

“I turned on the car and scrolled through my mix until I found an Elvis song. Then I signaled, turned up the volume, and pulled back out onto the highway.”

3. The Last Olympian by Rick Riordan

“And it was pretty much the best underwater kiss of all time.”

4. The Book Thief by Markus Zuzak

“I am haunted by humans.”

5. The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman

“There was a smile dancing on his lips, although it was a wary smile, for the world is a bigger place than a little graveyard on a hill; and there would be dangers in it and mysteries, new friends to make, old friends to rediscover, mistakes to be made and many paths to be walked before he would, finally, return to the graveyard or ride with the Lady on the broad back of her great grey stallion.”

What is your favorite last line in the book? Any of them on this list?

  1. I really do love the last line of Harry Potter. Especially “All was well”. Harry’s childhood was so chaotic, and I loved that Rowling ended the series with him being happy and living a simple life with his family.
