April Wrap Up & May TBR // The weird month where I am both overwhelmed yet chill???

MONTHLY wrap up

Oh wow. Another month has passed, can you believe that??

May felt like a breeze to me, mainly because I felt like I didn’t do anything? But I felt tired and busy all the time?? I barely had any time to read and constantly playing catch up with all my work?? But when I look back, I realize that my schedule weren’t as hectic as it usually is???

  1. CIRCE by Madeline Miller {ARC} // ✰✰✰✰
  3. TESS OF THE ROAD by Rachel Hartman {ARC} // DNF at 35%
  4. DEFY by Sara B. Larson // ✰✰✰
  5. DEAD WEIGHT: MURDER AT CAMP BLOOM {ARC} by Terry Blas, Molly Muldoon and Matthew Seely // ✰✰✰✰✰
  6. THE PRICE GUIDE TO OCCULT by Leslie Walton {ARC} // ✰✰✰✰.75

I managed to finish Prisoner of Azkaban you guys!!!! I honestly felt dissapointed that it took me that long to finish it, as the movie was one of my favorite. And I remember liking the book??? But eh, it just doesn’t feel right. And then I decided to finally give up on Tess of the Road, it’s just too slow for my mood.

As expected, Circe was amazing! Madeline Miller just keep giving and I can’t wait for her next release. The pleasant surprise of this month were Dead Weight, which was so much fun, and The Price Guide to the Occult. I’ve read many meh reviews about Price Guide but still went in with quite high expectations… and this book met it! Review will be coming soon!

  1. HALF BAD by Sally Green
  2. MY LADY’S CHOOSING by Kitty Curran {ARC}
  3. A YEAR OF TAKING CHANCES by Jennifer Bohnet {ARC}

I am actually scared for Goblet of Fire, as I didn’t expect it to be THAT thick. It turns out to be the 2nd longest book in the series, which I thought was Half-blood Prince this whole time. Oh my.

an accurate representation of me this month

This month was… weird. I was overwhelmed with everything, despite not having as much workload as I used to in high school. But I guess I am just not in the right state of mind this month? Everything is just overwhelming, people are just overbearing, and I just want to be left alone. I barely have any motivation to read, let alone watch anything.

Maybe because I didn’t get enough sleep? I don’t know why but this month I rarely got a good night sleep. It’s so hard for me to fell asleep at night and so easy for me to wake up in the morning. I barely knew what I learn in class, and I hated it as I felt like I wasted my parents effort for my education 😣 Any advice on how to get out of this funk??

This is also the time where I apologized for not posting regularly, replying to comments, do commenting back, blog hopping, etc. I was just overwhelmed and can’t do that. I hope May will be better though!

On the other hand… INFINITY WAR HAPPENED. And I am slayed. I literally can’t function normally because my mind just REFUSED TO MOVE ON. I already posted my extremely rambly, extremely full of spoiler review on tumblr and the more coherent and non spoiler on The Nerd Daily, so go check them out. But BOOOOY THAT MOVIE DESTROYED ME.

Also, Savannah @ The Book Prophet write a post on her favorite K-pop music video and Flavia @ Flavia the Bibliophile also write about her top 10 K-dramas to watch and it got me thinking to write several post? I would say a series?? About favorite K-dramas, the ones I need to watch, and then moving to K-pop: favorite song, favorite MV, and ones I wish more popular, and maybe some of my favorite variety shows too?? I rambled a lot about K-dramas so might as well write a lengthy post about it. What do you guys think??

  1. Thanks for including my post! April has been super slow for me too, but there’s also so much stuff that’s just causing me anxiety? Not sure what it is about this month but ugh. Hopefully May will go well for both of us!

  2. It’s super cool that you’re doing a Harry Potter reread! I’m doing one as well at the moment, and I’m currently on book five, but I can’t remember where I put it down last time I read it so progress is slow… Yes I have seen Infinity War! OMG…. I don’t even know what to say about that movie, but it definitely hit me hard… I just couldn’t believe it!

  3. Hello Tasya,
    Sounds like you had a rough month. Take it easy with reading and school- our physical and mental health are more important right? 🙂 I used to have bad sleep as well, but I find that it helps to have a routine at night, for example, sleeping at around the same time each night and doing a relaxing activity before bedtime- this way your body will get into the habit of going to bed.
    I just finished the Prisoner of Azkaban as well. Although I enjoyed it overall, I did find it a bit slow paced for the first 70% and then everything happens at once lol 🙂 I am reading the Goblet of Fire this month too. Let me know if you want to buddy read!

    1. Thank you for the advice Sophie, I try to create a routine but I always failed 😭 I should try harder though, it’s getting annoying not being able to sleep at night and not being able to wake up in the morning 😵 Yes, that is exactly my problem with PoA, the pacing is so slow and then the ending just dump everything on us :/
