  • Nominate eleven blogs and give them eleven questions to answer

Lily’s Questions

01. What accomplishment are you most proud of?

Getting an internship last summer! I always want to study international relation and working in international setting is something I really wanted to do, so me getting an internship in that field meant so much to me! I finally experienced it and really enjoyed it.

02. What does your perfect weekend look like?

Have a staycation at home, playing with my dog and watched movies the whole day. I always prefer staying in rather than going out during the weekends, it provide me a chance to charge my “social energy” 😂

03. What song(s) do you have completely memorized?

All songs from Justin Bieber’s My World and My World 2.0, as well as One Direction’s Up All Night and Take Me Home. I was quite a directioner and belieber back in the day😉

04. Which person, dead or alive, do you admire & why?

Amal Alamuddin. She may marry George Clooney, but she’s also a woman full of accomplishment in her own rights. She’s a human rights lawyer that deals with genocide and other important cases, for God’s sake! I want to spend the whole day asking about her jobs, inspiration, and more!

05. Are you usually early or late?

Depends. When with my highschool friends I’m usually early because they are just terrible with time. With my university friends, I tend to be late because my sense of time already messed up by befriending my high school friends ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

06. What is something you think everyone should do at least once in their lives?

Volunteering! Not all volunteering will give you that “eye opening experience of how lucky you are” but I think volunteering will help you find a cause you really care about. And being caring and involved as a citizen of this world is important!

07. What age do you wish you could permanently be?

Yes, 13 was an awkward year. There are so many things I wished I never done. But it was also an amazing year for me; I had lots of carefree fun. I would love to get back to that year.

08. What is something you wish you were better at?

Driving. I’m not terrible per se, but I’m an extremely nervous driver. Especially here in Indonesia where the road is pretty much a lawless place for motorcycles and road rage could lead to murder.

09. What are some (small) things that brighten your day?

Fresh sheets and rainy days! I loooove waking up/falling asleep to rainy days, especially if I’m staying in for the day.

10. Which book has changed or shaped your way of thinking monumentally?

13 Reasons Why. I know that this is a controversial book, but it really hits me then that we never know what other people deal with in their life. We are not their only problem, and things can snowballed out of control and hurt them.

11. I’m going to copy Belle, and ask you your favorite quote. 💭

Eleanor was right. She never looked nice. She looked like art, and art wasn’t supposed to look nice; it was supposed to make you feel something.

{Eleanor and Park, Rainbow Rowell}

Chiara’s Questions

01. What made you start book blogging?

I am always a reader since as long as I can remember. Sadly, I have no one to talk to. At first I joined Goodreads but I realized that I need more space to share my opinions on books. Not only more space, blogging will also give me a platform to write about other things I love about 😀

02. What’s the last five star book you read?

China Rich Girlfriend by Kevin Kwan! It was actually 4.5 but I round it up to 5. The review will be up soon so stay tuned!

3) What did you want to be when you were five years old?

Archaeologist. I always love history and The Mummy movies were all the rage at that time, I think being an archaeologist would be fun until I realized I’m afraid of the dark. And the amount of curses involved in ancient tombs are enough for a lifetime.

4) If there was a natural disaster coming and you could only save five books in your house which five books would you save?

My entire Harry Potter set, Percy Jackson and the Olympians set, The Infernal Devices trilogy, The Song of Achilles, and To Kill A Mockingbird.

Yes I know it’s cheating but shhh, I’m not going to pick between my babies.

5) What’s the last book blog you followed?

Paws and Paperbacks, go check their blog out!

6) If you had to give a presentation on any topic what would you give it on?

Harry Potter character analysis, I think 7 books really gave JKR a lot of room to develop her characters and I really enjoyed doing it! The latest one I wrote about was Severus Snape.

7) You can interview any (living) author in the world. Who do you interview?

Rick Riordan! Not only he wrote interesting books for all ages, he’s also inclusive with his characters and try to write as many diverse character as possible. He’s also very open about his dislike towards the movie adaptations.

8) If you could see any book turned into a perfect adaptation which book would you want it to be?

The Infernal Devices! Imagine the victorian setting and the love between Will and Jem coming to life on screen. It will be as painful as the finale of BBC Merlin 😭

9) What’s a TV show that got cancelled that you wish had gone on for longer?

Da Vinci’s Demons, I’m so bitter. It’s really good, I love the politics of Florence surrounding of the Medici and the Vatican, not so much on the Book of Leaves. But the frenemies relationship between Da Vinci and Riario? The brotherhood between Lorenzo and Da Vinci? Also Da Vinci and the gang??? It’s a shame because I’m excited to see where the story would go next.

10) What’s an upcoming book you’re really looking forward to reading?

Vengeful by V.E Schwab, Winter of the Witch by Katherine Arden, and also Wicked Saints by Emily Duncan which is apparently perfect for Darklina shipper aka ME.

Thank you for reading! I will post part 2 soon, along with the nominations 🙂
