August Wrap Up & September TBR (2019) // I’m home!

MONTHLY wrap up

Hi everyone! Summer is winding down to a close, another school year is coming, and I’m finally home 😊 These past 2 months have felt like it was flying by, but also quite long.

Before I get into the details though, let’s see all the books I’ve read in the month of August!

5

  1. APHRODITE MADE ME DO IT by Trista Mateer {e-ARC} // ✰✰✰✰
  2. PERSUASION by Martina Boone // ✰✰✰
  3. LIFESTYLES OF GODS AND MONSTERS by Emily Roberson {e-ARC} // ✰✰✰.5
  4. DAUGHTERS UNTO DEVILS by Amy Lukavics {library} // ✰✰✰✰
  5. SPQR: A HISTORY OF ROME by Mary Beard {library} // DNF at page 147
  6. A GATHERING OF SHADOWS by V. E. Schwab {library} // ✰✰✰✰.5
  7. A CONJURING OF LIGHT by V. E. Schwab {library} // ✰✰✰✰✰

I asked my friend if I can borrow her library card and she kindly lent me hers for a month!!! 😊 I’m so happy and it definitely contribute to the amount of books I’ve read this month.

6

  1. THE TEA DRAGON FESTIVAL by Katie O’Neill {e-ARC} – I already finished this and it’s 5/5 ✰
  2. THE SURFACE BREAKS by Louise O’neill {e-ARC}
  3. THE INFINITE NOISE by Lauren Shippen {e-ARC}

Not much on my TBR for next month as I have to start thinking for my final year project placement and proposal, as well as my internship report and presentation. Even if I do have spare time, I think I’ll just randomly pick a book based on my mood at that time 😉

I’m home!

These past 2 months have flown by and while I do enjoyed the experience, I have to admit that it hasn’t been easy. First, there is the issue of me having to adjust to the pace of life as well as customs in another place. It’s different and while I’m not exactly homesick, it took me a while to adjust. When it comes to the internship, the people are amazing, supportive, and super helpful! But the learning curve is steep and there is so much to do, I found myself floundering a lot even with the help I’m getting. Due to this, I didn’t managed to explore the country as much as I’d like 🙍 I will do it again in a heartbeat though, because I do feel like I’m learning a lot!

With that being said, I can’t deny that it feels nice to be home. Everything is just very familiar, I miss the cuisine and of course, I get to meet my pup again! Unfortunately, I only have Sunday at home because on Monday, I have to head back for my first day of my final year 😶 It felt surreal that I’m almost at the end of my journey and it definitely feels scary! I have a lot of decisions to make and opportunities to look for, I’m not sure I’m ready for all of that.

  1. Yay for getting back home, there is nothing better than that feeling of returning! It was so nice of your friend to loan their library card too, that’s wonderful! Happy to see you enjoyed A Conjuring of Light – I still haven’t read that one because when I read A Gathering of Shadows last year I kind of hated it lol.

    Thanks so much for linking to my post, and I hope you have a fantastic September!
