Happy October!!! π
Look, I know my country doesn’t have fall and don’t celebrate halloween, but it’s usually the start of rainy season here so the weather are always dark and gloomy. It’s a relieving change after the blistering heat of everyday’s sun. I also love the vibe and aesthetic of fall, so I can’t stop myself for joining the celebration! Not to mention halloween- how else can I find an excuse to read and binge-watch creepy shows??
Before I ramble for too long and you got bored, let’s get to all the bookish stuff!
- THE TEA DRAGON FESTIVAL by Katie O’Neill {e-ARC} // β°β°β°β°
- GOOD OMENS by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett // DNF at page 140
- THE INFINITE NOISE by Lauren Shippen {e-ARC} // β°β°

- THE SILENCE OF BONES by June Hur {e-ARC} // β°β°β°
- ROGUE PRINCESS by B. R Myers {e-ARC} // β°β°
- THE SURFACE BREAKS by Louise O’Neill {e-ARC} // β°β°β°β°

- A WORLD OF SPOOKY STORIES: 50 TALES TO MAKE YOUR SPINE TINGLE by Angela McAllister // β°β°β°.5
I’m so happy with how much I read this month, I didn’t even realized it until I write this wrap-up! As you can see, most of these books are ARCs as I want to get to them before 2020 (can’t believe I typed that). In addition to them, I also DNF’ed DAUGHTERS OF THE NILE by Stephanie Dray. It’s been sitting there for too long, I think it’s time to say good bye to the series
All links are for my goodreads review. Full reviews are coming soon except for Rogue Princess and Silence of Bones, which will be posted nearer their publication date.
- THE ATHENA PROTOCOL by Shamim Sarif
- RETRIBUTION OF MARA DYER by Michelle Hodkin
- STEADFAST by Claudia Gray
- SMALL SPACES by Katherine Arden
- THE DEVIL’S APPRENTICE: THE GREAT DEVIL WAR 1 by Kenneth B. Andersen
Not much lined up for October, but I have internship report and thesis application to be sorted out so…. #priorities.
- Olivia @ Purely Olivia describes 10 levels of being obsessed with Harry Potter. I think I’m around 7-8, but it definitely jumps to 10 during christmas season
- Hedy @ Happily Hedy guest posted at Kelly @ Another Book in the Wall’s blog and listed 10 YA Asian-led books
- Jeann, Jenna, and Aila @ Happy Indulgences talked about what makes a good ending to a series.
- Marie @ Drizzle and Hurricanes questioned: do we really want to read the book, or is it the hype?
- Kelly @ Another Book in the Wall discussed whether contemporary books ever become outdatedΒ and 4 life-saving tricks to remove stickers from books.

September turned out to be a better month that what I expected!
In case you’re not aware, I spent my summer doing credited internship which are mandatory from my campus and weighs around 6 CU. And while it had been a fun and rewarding learning experience, there were some bad moments and as the result, I was pretty tired at the end of it. Uni started directly after my return so as you can imagine, I didn’t have any rest and really worried that I wouldn’t be able to enjoy this final semester.
Turns out, it has been really enjoyable so far! My schedule is really free compared to the previous semesters; most of my classes are only until noon and I got Mondays and Wednesdays off. So yeah, I’ve had plenty of time to rest, read, and watch πΒ But there are the shadow of internship report and final year project proposal that have been haunting me. The deadline is approaching FAST and I need to make some important decisions ASAP.
My wifi was down for more than a week though, so it’s really helpful in terms of researching and writing my report π
Everyone has been doing a blog makeover and it makes me want to do one too! I have been thinking about this for a while, from having a new logo to a new theme. I actually changed my theme accidentally because I was looking for a new one and accidentally clicked on this one! I already have a new logo design in mind, it’s just the issue of making them and actually find a theme that will match them….
And in the random news…. we finally have pumpkin spice latte in Indonesia!!!Β So yeah, this will be the first year we actually have this drink as our usual seasonal menu consists of signature chocolate and cascara something. After years of seething in jealousy every time someone drinks pumpkin spice latte, I could finally give it a taste myself! Unfortunately, I didn’t really enjoyed it. Yes, it was warm, but it felt more like gingerbread than spices and it has a bitter aftertaste. Is that how it’s supposed to taste or does our starbucks does something different?? But yeah, unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the hype for me.

Lovely wrap up, Tasya!! I’m so happy that the semester has been treating you well, and those Mondays and Wednesdays off sound like the perfect time to read! Hehe! β€ I'm so sorry that the pumpkin spice latte was a disappointment! My favorite pumpkin drinks are actually this power mix I buy from the store, but don't tell Starbucks that! Thanks for linking to all my posts, love! βΊοΈ

Thank you, Kelly! β€ Ooh that sounds really good! Pumpkin-flavored food is very rare here, maybe because we rarely consume pumpkin at all…

Glad to hear that your semester is going better than you expected! π I definitely feel you about the stress and deadlines, my bachelor thesis is fast approaching and I have to come up with a good topic to write about π± I’m loving the Pumpkin Spice Latte, but maybe there’s another drink you’ll like? My Starbucks has like 3 autumn drinks to choose from π

I’m happy your semester is better than expected, and yay for the lots of free time!! I loved the Good Omens show, but I definitely get why you DNF-ed the book. I read that before watching the show, and man, it bored me so badly, and I just didn’t find it funny at all. Pity about the pumpkin spice latte – I have never tried it, because I hate all forms of coffee, but yeah, it sucks that it didn’t work for you. π¦ Hope your October will be amazing! π
