May Wrap Up and June TBR (2021)

Another end of the month, another wrap up! Time really feels like it’s flying when you have a routine, I can’t believe we’re almost halfway through 2021 now πŸ‘€

  1. THE DECAGON HOUSE MURDERS by Yukito Ayatsuji {e-ARC} // 🌟🌟🌟🌟
  2. YOU’VE REACH SAM by Dustin Thao {e-ARC} // 🌟🌟
  3. THE WISHING WELL by Charles de Lint // 🌟🌟🌟
  4. SPIRIT HUNTERS by Ellen Oh // 🌟🌟🌟🌟
  5. THE FIRE NEVER GOES OUT: A MEMOIR IN PICTURES by Noelle Stevenson // 🌟🌟🌟🌟
  6. THERE’S SOMETHING ABOUT SWEETIE by Sandhya Menon // On-going

As May was AAPIH month, I’m trying my best to read only books from AAPI authors this month. The Decagon House Murders and Spirit Hunters were a pleasant surprise for me; I’m hoping to read the latter’s sequel in June. Unfortunately, You’ve Reach Sam was a disappointing read despite its potential. I still haven’t finished There’s Something About Sweetie yet due to several deadlines, but I aim to finish it sometime this week. I also picked up some short books- The Wishing Well was an eerie but captivating read while The Fire Never Goes Out was an intimate and soothing read that I didn’t know I needed.

  2. XOXO by Axie Oh
  3. THE ISLAND OF MONSTERS by Ellen Oh

Honestly, I am this close 🀏 to burning out so I don’t know whether I’ll read anything in June. But even if I do, I’m probably going to pick up something shorter and fun- most likely a contemporary or middle grade.

Good news first: I got my first shot of COVID-19 vaccine!

The rollout hasn’t been without hiccups; we have successfully vaccinate the healthcare workers and now moving on to the elderly and workers. For workers, it is mandatory to be provided by company so I got my vaccine together with my colleagues. I didn’t have any side effects (except drowsiness) and will get my second shot in June. It’s a relief tbh to finally see the pandemic showing signs of ending πŸ₯Ί

June actually had a lot of holidays (Eid and Vesak) but also a lot of deadlines for me. It’s nice to have a break from all the deadlines and yet I also feel the holidays affected my mindset 😭 I find it really hard to focus lately and my sleep schedule got messed up again. So yeah hopefully June would be a better month 🀞

I’ve been listening to a lot of music this month so I figured I’ll share my favorites with you guys. I really love JUS2 types of songs so it’s no wonder that I’m LOVING JAY B’s newest single. Then NCT Dream released their first full album and it has no skips! Honestly the whole album is just soooo good!!! My favorite would be My Youth, Rainbow, and Hot Sauce πŸ’š As for the rest, I was shuffling my playlist and they just really stood out to me this month hehe.

May was a terrible blogging month as I barely wrote any post. Idk, I was just too caught up in my head that I felt no motivation to write anything πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ I have tons of reviews to write though so hopefully I can get them out in June!

How was May for you?
